Cookie Policy
Exactly which cookies we use, what each is for, and why none of them are for advertising.
Updated 7 September 2026
Effective date: the last-updated date is shown at the foot of this page.
This policy covers the Spardha Pariksha Foundation website. Our three apps do not use cookies; what they store is described in the privacy policy.
1. In short
This website sets two cookies, and both are needed for it to work. We use no cookies for advertising, for following you around, or for selling your data.
There are no third-party advertising cookies on this site.
2. The cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
XSRF-TOKEN |
Confirms a form was really submitted from our own page. Without it, any other website could post a form to us in your name. | 2 hours |
…-session |
Remembers that you are signed in. Even when you are not, it carries form input and status messages between pages. | 2 hours |
Both are encrypted, and the session cookie is HttpOnly — JavaScript cannot read it.
3. Stored on your device, but not cookies
A few preferences are kept in your own browser (localStorage) rather than in a cookie. These never reach us — they stay on your device:
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
spf-theme | Whether you chose the dark or light theme |
spf-reader-scale | The text size you set |
spf-consent | Whether you have seen the cookie notice |
4. Analytics
As at the date of this page, Google Analytics is not enabled on this website.
If we do turn it on later:
- it will count page views only — not your name, e-mail or identity
- your IP address will be anonymised before it is sent
- this page will be updated first
5. Can you refuse the essential cookies?
The honest answer is no, and it is worth saying why.
Both cookies above exist for security: one checks that a form submission is genuine, the other keeps you signed in. Switch them off and the contact form stops working and you cannot log in. They are not conveniences; they are how the site functions.
You can still block all cookies in your browser — but the login and the forms will not work if you do.
6. How to clear cookies
- Chrome (Android/desktop) — Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari (iPhone) — Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. If we ever begin using a new kind of cookie, this page will be updated before we start.
