Mahavitaran, Mahatransco, Mahagenco, MHADA, MSRTC and other state corporations are among Maharashtra's largest employers. These recruitments attract less attention than MPSC — which is precisely why the odds are better.
The share of technical posts is much higher. Junior Engineer, Technician, Electrical Assistant and Sub-station Assistant require an ITI, diploma or engineering degree in the relevant branch, which keeps the field small.
Non-technical posts — clerk, assistant, junior assistant — are also advertised, and a degree is enough for those.
Most corporations conduct their own examination, so the syllabus changes with each advertisement. For technical posts, roughly 50–60 per cent of questions come from the relevant technical subject and the rest from general knowledge, arithmetic and language.
For a technical post, revising your own diploma or degree syllabus is the highest-return use of your time: that is where the marks are, and you have already studied it.
These advertisements appear irregularly and the application window is often short. Keep your documents ready and watch the notifications — starting preparation when the advertisement appears is too late.
